Renai Gallagher graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy in 1997. She received a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2003 and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University in 2019. She is also a licensed massage therapist and a birth doula.
Currently Dr. Gallagher works in private practice, combining exercise prescription with movement and manual therapy to promote wellness, improve body awareness and minimize pain.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Gallagher has worked primarily in outpatient rehabilitation and private practice settings with clients of all ages. She provides wellness services as well as treatment for a variety of orthopedic, neurologic and pelvic health conditions.
She has extensive experience and interest in gender health issues. She authored a chapter in Women’s Health in Physical Therapy: Principles & Practice for Rehabilitation Professionals entitled: “Perinatal Options: Informed Choices to Promote Normal Birth”.
She is an adjunct professor in the Division of Physical Therapy at the University of New Mexico and has taught Gender Health since 2013.
